5K Weddings Tip of the Week #1

Instead of wrestling with those huge invitation books why not create your own invitations?
Instead of spending hundreds on invitations and spending money you could save and use elsewhere, why not
#1Â Create Your Own!
Besides the tons of resources on the Internet for creating your own stationary, and any other paper craft you can create your own personal work of art that people will keep for years to come. Most invitations get trashed. However, when your invitees see the craft work included in your invite they are more likely to show it off to guest and maybe incorporate the idea into their stationary needs.
I went to Michael’s and they had a few invitation kits. The one I choose was lovely and matched my dress. Printing was a breeze once I got use to the printer settings, and was able to match it to my envelope size. Other than that, be sure to use the website given on the package. It might be best to test addresses on paper first and gauge it to the envelope size. My website was Gartnerstudios.com. Gartner is best known for their wedding invitation line and I have always loved their invitations but couldn’t and didn’t want to spend hundreds of dollars on invitations alone. Armed with a budget of $50 I was able to do my invitations and have leftover money for wax, letter stamp (initial of last name) and crystals that I placed on the invitations. The leftover invitations came in handy and I was able to use just the stationary without the decorative band to print directions which included a map directly from the Restaurant’s website where the ceremony and reception took place and the decorative band for the cylindars which housed floating candles and became the centerpieces!
Just one word…Priceless!
