Wedding Colors for 2010

March 2, 2010 | Author: Leslie, Color, Where to Start

In keeping up to date with the trends, fashion authorities have decreed that brighter colors are in rage among bridal accessories. Instead of an all white look, go for splashes of pink or red on your gown with fabric flowers. If you are not into any frills, a simple but colorful sash or ribbon tied at your waist will do the trick.

Jewelry in varying colors is also a good idea. Hairpieces adorned with off white pearls will serve dual purposes. If you liked Sarah Jessica Parker’s feathered headpiece in the Sex in the City movie, you could go with something similar, maybe with the same color as your motif. You can also have your bridesmaids in different dress colors.

Going for colorful shoes add a little extra while you are walking down the aisle. Picture the tips of your shoes peeking out with their bright colors with every step you make. Your groom and your guests’ eyes will be pleasurably surprised for sure.

Tips in Choosing your Wedding Colors

December 29, 2009 | Author: Leslie, Color, Where to Start

One of the first things you should decide on when planning your wedding is your wedding color scheme. If you are a bit undecided as to what color to use and if you’re also wondering if the colors you pick go well with each other, here are a few tips to get you going:

  • Choose colors that compliment your wedding venue and reception. Even if you really like a certain color, if it doesn’t go well with your wedding venue and reception, don’t use it.
  • Choose colors that compliment the season you are going to get married on. Spring and summer weddings usually have light color schemes and fall and winter weddings lean on darker colors.
  • You should also choose at least 2 main colors and others can be complimentary colors so that your wedding scheme doesn’t look confusing and unpleasant to the eyes.

A Christmas Wedding Saves You a Lot!

December 1, 2009 | Author: Leslie, Choosing Your Wedding Date, Color, Low Cost Ideas

If you think having a wedding while the Christmas season is near is a bad idea, think again. You can actually end up saving a lot more if you have your wedding during this season.

For starters, you get to save on wedding decoration as most venues are already decorated with Christmas-inspired decorations.

Second, you don’t need to stress over thinking about what color scheme to follow – green and red during this season are your best options. Your guests will also love going to your wedding during this season as it is already sort of a pre-Christmas reunion with friends and family. Plus, with the upcoming season, your guests will probably be in the mood to give more gifts!

Your Color Scheme

Deciding your color scheme is one of the most intricate of details as it determines how everything from invitations and theme to your reception.  Spring and Summer weddings incorporate color trends that are cool, fall and winter; warm tones.  Learning the difference between warm pink and cool pink can be a bit confusing as one is peachy while the other is more pink.  Being able to differentiate between the two will act as a guide while you are describing to your needs to providers.

Swatches are available through most providers for free or a small fee.  Swatches are a must as they change between manufacturers and can save you from costly mistakes.  Have the provider mail you samples or pick them up in person.Having a sample right in your hand while shopping and continued planning can also lead to  inexpensive and new design elements being incorporated!

To view a sample color wheel and to compare schemes click here.  Wondering if you can pull it off and need to know now?  Head to your local hardware or paint store and ask for Paint Swatches!  This is a great way of getting a visual to work with!

Since dealing with color is hit or miss, “Best of Luck!”
