Who walks you down the aisle?

Nowadays, this is one of the questions raised during the wedding planning. Traditionally, it is always the father of bride who is given the honor of walking the bride down the aisle and giving her away. However, in these present times, it has become a little complicated.

For those with both biological and step fathers, who do you choose? To avoid any hurt feelings, you can have both of them walk you down the aisle, especially if you feel that both have played important parts in your life. On the other hand, if you are closer to one than the other is, go with the one you are on better terms with. You can have a talk with whomever you have not chosen and explain or find him another important task in the wedding.

It is also becoming common for both mother and father to walk their daughters down the aisle together. This is a great way to acknowledge both of them equally. I have actually been to a lot of weddings where both parents share this particular honor and the moment the officiant asks, “Who gives this woman?” and both answer “We do,” is priceless.
