Ordering a Gown Online
When ordering a gown online there are a couple of things you must first know. For one, you need to know your measurements and conversions if necessary. To do this, enlist the aid of a tailor or seamstress but not your best friend or yourself. Measurements off by a fraction is too much! This can cause a costly error that you’ll be stuck with.
Second, when ordering a gown online “DO NOT USE YOUR CREDIT CARD!” if you can help it or you have dealt with the vendor before. Lets face it, your privacy is no laughing matter and there are online vendors with unsafe storage practices and those that don’t even possess a Privacy Policy that details what is being done with any of your information or who/ what has access to it. I called around and came across a destinations wedding gown distributor with the lowest price for the gown I initially wanted, but as owner and operator he couldn’t tell me how my information was protected when sending it over the Internet. I asked, “Is it encrypted (SSL)?” and he simply didn’t know. Now, it could just be that he isn’t a bit technical, but he then stated that it should be within the Policy; which it was not! Nonetheless, I went to my bank and got a VISA Gift Card just for such occasions!
The last detail when ordering a gown online, is knowing the time. This includes but is not limited to: order processing , production , shipping, and delivery. You need enough time to get alterations if needed, and to make the final decision regarding your gown. So ladies, you can order a gown online and make out like a bandit with all the online deals out there, but you have to be a wise consumer or else, you’ll blow the honeymoon on your “gowns” instead of gown!
Happy Shopping!
