Save Money on your Wedding Photographer

May 20, 2010 | Author: Leslie, Photography

Choosing the right wedding photographer is crucial because the photographs will be reminders of one of the biggest events in your life. You’d naturally want great, beautiful, and perfect pictures but it is also possible to save money without sacrificing the quality.

Always ask for referrals from families and friends. This is one great way to be assured that the wedding photographer is not a scammer and you can see their actual work by looking at the photographs they had taken instead of just their portfolio.

Get more than one quote. This should actually apply to everything in your wedding planning because you may not be getting the greatest deal by settling for the first photographer whose work you like. You can also use other quotes as bargaining chips when negotiating with price. You can say that you had found another photographer who can give you the same service for a lower price; most will give way when faced with the possibility of losing the deal altogether.

We have already mentioned that one sure way to save money is to plan your wedding on off-season; the same applies to wedding photographers. You may be able to find discounts or promotions during off peak months and most will be open to negotiating since there is no high demand for their services.

Choosing your wedding photographer

April 21, 2010 | Author: Leslie, Photography

Your wedding photographs will serve as a reminder of one of the most memorable days of your life. It is only natural that you want them to be beautiful and perfect, showing exactly the mood and spirit of your wedding day. This makes it important that you get the best possible photographer to capture your wedding moments.

Ask for referrals. Go to your friends or family members who are likely to know and recommend someone who has done a good job on their own weddings or other events. Browse through their photographs and see if you like any of the work done.

Go online and look over portfolios and galleries. When you have made some choices, send inquiries through email or call them up directly. If you find some that are worth looking into further, arrange to have a meeting with the photographer to discuss more in detail.

Important questions to ask are:

How long have they been operating in this line of work?

How much are they charging for their services?

Who will you be dealing with directly before, during, and after the wedding?

How will the picture selection process go?

How long will it take before the pictures are available to you?

These are just some of the questions you need to ask during your interview with the photographer; I am sure that once there, you will have some more that will need to be addressed.

DIY Wedding Photography Tips – Megapixels

January 23, 2010 | Author: Leslie, Photography

Doing your own wedding photographs can save you tons of money, and if you are wondering if you can do it, here are a few tips to help you do just so.

For starters, if you and your family have digital cameras, you can put them to very good use during your wedding. If you have a 6 – 8 megapixel digital camera, you’re off to a good start since images captured on this type of camera can be blown up to a size of up to 8 by 10 without any distortion whatsoever. The higher the megapixels, the better and larger prints are produced.

Having said so, if you intend on making pictures mostly for your photo album, and perhaps a shot or so that is big, you’re pretty much OK with a 10 megapixel digital camera. Besides, there’s always Adobe Photoshop to edit your pictures, right?

Great Ideas to Save on Wedding Photography Costs

October 14, 2009 | 5K Weddings DIY, Author: Leslie, Low Cost Ideas, Photography

You canhave the wedding of your dreams without busting you and your fiance’s savings accounts. You can save on your wedding photography costs by following these tips.

First of all, don’t agree to the price the first wedding photographer you get to speak with costs. Always ask at least 3-4 wedding photographers. Although it may seem a hassle, in the end, when it comes to how much printing each picture costs and the services altogether means a lot.

Second, when you choose your wedding date, try to avoid the peak season for weddings, which is usually the months of May through August. During this time, the demand for wedding photographers is high and they tend to charge more than any other time of the year.

Third, you should also consider having friends or family members capture the special moments in your wedding. When the celebration is over, you can print them yourself or even use a photo editing software to make the pictures even more dramatic and pretty.
