Here are the things you must have to foolproof your wedding. Hopefully you won’t need them but it is always good to be prepared for anything.

Double-sided tape

You can also have ready some thread and needle but they take time and for really quick fixes, double-sided tape works best.

Clear nail polish

I have always had bad luck when wearing stockings so I never leave home without this when I am wearing a pair.

Hairpins

You can never be too sure when it comes to your coiffed ‘do. You might need to tuck in a stray strand in between pictures.

Breath Mints

Obviously, it freshens the breath but I also find these to relieve tension at times. A friend of mine who got married recently kept popping one throughout the day because she said it helped her not throw up.

Band Aids

Perfect for those pesky blisters that pop up from those new shoes you are wearing.

Every bride should be prepared on her wedding day. Some small emergency may suddenly pop up and having a kit handy will help avert any disaster. Here are essential items you should carry on the big day. It should fit in one small simple cloth bag that one of your bridesmaids can carry with her through the event.

• A small sewing kit with needle and threads of different colors
• A bottle of clear nail polish (for stocking runs)
• A small packet of wet wipes or tissues
• A small tube of lipstick for touchups
• Pressed powder compact also for touchups
• Gum to freshen breath
• Paracetamol or aspirin for sudden headaches
• A small pair of scissors
• Some band aids
• Safety pins
• A small roll of double sided tape
• Hairpins for loose hair strands
• A small bottle of hairspray
• Sanitary napkins or tampons
