5K Weddings officially launched the site 5kweddings.com. 5K Weddings is a sole proprietorship owned and operated by me; Sonja. The concept is the first of its kind anywhere on the web, and in the world! 5K Weddings birth was simple; dedicate a wedding website and company geared toward the cost conscious, or as some say the “budget bride”. Since I was working with a 5K budget myself for my vow renewal I knew it wasn’t easy to find resources via the internet dedicated solely toward those with a set amount to spend. I immediately started research and tracking my spending.
Most of my “big day” was DIY and that included the Save the Dates, which were blown out of the equation after being mailed, invitations, centerpieces, placement cards, vows, and floral. My Officiant was very last minute and was referred by the tenth Priest I contacted that would have performed the ceremony but had prior arrangements to travel and return with family during the Memorial Day Weekend! None the less, it went off with just two minor mistakes which went unnoticed. The first; my husband couldn’t get his IPod to synch with my laptop so therefore there was no walking down the isle to Seal’s “Kiss From a Rose” or various artist playing during the cocktail reception or four course meal, the other hiccup was the programs. I printed them, but my girlfriend was too nervous to pass them out, so I went home with a bag full! I later distributed them and everyone loved receiving one regardless of how late it was!
There is much more to come, and I can’t wait for Spring and all the exciting events planned! Definitely stay tuned to 5K Weddings Blog and 5K Weddings.com…you’ll be glad you did! ~Sonja
