Save on your wedding invitations

Your wedding invitation costs should not take up more of your budget than is necessary. Remember that thicker paper costs more than regular or lighter ones. Colored paper and those with extra designs printed on them are more expensive than those that are simple and plain. Other color inks and graphics will also add to your bill. And if you do not want to choose from any available designs and want to go with your own custom made one, that will cost more, too. You will also need to consider postage for your invitation as well as postage for your wedding reply cards.
Try to save money by going for just one color for your invitation paper and the print. Keep everything simple, both with the paper and the text inside. The lighter the paper, the less you will have to pay for postage. Try not to go overboard with inserts. I went to a wedding once that had the name of the wedding coordinator on the invite. The instruction was to call up that person and verbally confirm if I was going to attend or not. Not traditional but it saved on extra paper and postage.
