How to Choose Your Wedding Music

If you’ve decided to play your own wedding music instead of hiring a band to play, it actually saves you a lot of money. But choosing which songs to play and when they should be played is something you should definitely consider – and here are a few tips to help you get started.
- Music will need to be played during the wedding itself and the reception, so you need to keep that in mind.
- If you are having a themed wedding, make sure you choose music that matches.
- Check with your officiant if there are any guidelines you need to follow when playing music during the ceremony itself, especially if you are having a church wedding. Your officiant may have plenty of songs to suggest, too!
- During the reception or your first dance as husband and wife, choose a wedding song with great lyrics to dance to. In this way, you’ll enjoy every step as you and your partner dance to the meaningful lyrics.
- You should also choose relaxing songs that will set the mood for your guests during the reception. You can also choose to insert some of you and your husband’s favorite songs every now and then.
